Blurb:

Jaded and betrayed, Mr. Colin Lloyd-Jones and Sir Anthony Crenshaw make a solemn vow to avoid the Marriage Mart for the duration of the London season. When Sir Anthony is called away on a journey in the company of his grandmother's ward, Miss Delacourt, Colin finds he cannot abide by their agreement, especially when his father expects him to squire his sister to society's endless balls and routs. When Colin encounters the breathtakingly beautiful Miss Elizabeth Armistead, he is intrigued by her lack of fascination for his great standing in society, family fortune, and captivating charm. When he learns that she is already betrothed, he feels himself safe from hurt in her company until he discovers the secret she has been guarding, one that batters his vulnerable heart all past mending.

Miss Elizabeth Armistead, India born and raised, is happily betrothed to British soldier, Duncan Cruikshank. When she arrives in London a month prior to the wedding she meets Mr. Lloyd-Jones and soon finds that he has invaded even her dreams. Besides Duncan, Mr. Lloyd-Jones is the only man who makes her feel as if he sees past her exceptional beauty to the person within. Her mother would prefer Elizabeth marry the rich and well-connected Mr. Lloyd-Jones while his sister is ecstatic that he is now free to woo Miss Armistead since he has broken off his engagement to the disgraceful Cecily. However, Elizabeth's commitment to the man she promised to marry is at odds with the likes of Mr. Lloyd-Jones who has cried off from one engagement already. How can she betray the man she believes to love her for virtues so as to indulge her love for a man she fears she cannot trust?

Blurb:

Why is there a boy who doesn't want to grow up? How can an apple start the sweetest romance in fairytale history? And what does a ruthless pirate have to do with it all?

Angelina McFarland loves reading fairytales. But she never dreamed of falling right into one herself. That’s exactly what happens when she slips on her balcony and a flying Peter Pan catches her mid-fall.

Ending up in Neverland where no one seems to age and laws of nature are out of control, Angel has no idea how to get home. Worse, the ruthless Captain Hook captures her and keeps her trapped on his ship, the Jolly Roger, where she gets caught between the lines of a timeless battle. But the more time Angel spends with the captain, the more she sees beneath his ruthless façade.

As Angel desperately tries to find a way to return to her real life, she discovers a train ticket to London in her pocket. It won’t be any help in getting off the island, but as her memory fades away the longer she stays, this is all she has left to remind her of her former life and why she can’t give up trying.

Or is staying in Neverland forever the better choice after all?

After a great deal of thought, I've decided that although most of my premades will be remain at the $40 USD price, a few are going to be higher than that. At the time of this post my premades are priced at $40 and $50. There may be higher priced ones in the future so please check the price (located below each cover image) before placing your order. Thank you.

Important Changes On the Horizon

10/22/2012

Due to some recent issues, I have had to make a few decisions regarding custom cover design. If you are a return client, one who has used my services in the past and plans to use them in the future, you have little with which to concern yourself. If we work well together, nothing will change.

My fees will remain the same, except I now have a $10 (USD) fee for adjustments. If you come back to me months later and want your cover in a different trim size, formatted for a different project, such as an audiobook, this will incur a base fee of $10. If the adjustment is more than shifting a few items, cutting things, or changing text, additional fees will apply.

I will also require a non-refundable deposit before I begin any work on custom cover designs, whether print or eBook. A Paypal invoice for $30 USD will be sent and must be paid before I even look for stock photos.

These new policies will go into effect on November 1, 2012.

There will be no change in regard to Premade Cover Designs. They will remain at the set price of $40 USD and will require no deposit.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please ask them here. I will answer as best I can.

The Lighter Side of Romantic Suspense

Collette Scott's soon-to-be released (may already be released) novel, Eyes on Tango, is romantic suspense with a happy-go-lucky hero. It's book 3 in The Evans Family series.

From the back:

Escaping a humiliating breakup, Dr. Danielle Ryan packs her bags for the beautiful Mayan Riviera in search of a peaceful, recuperative vacation. What she finds instead is a sadistic smuggler, and he is hot on her tail to silence her when she inadvertently obtains the proof to expose his crimes. Her only hope lies in the mysterious Good Samaritan who saves her from a bullet and drags her to safety. But can she trust the sexy man with the dancing eyes, a gun in his hand and too many secrets he’s unwilling to share?

Known to his family as the irresponsible one, happy-go-lucky Hayden Evans was content to hide his double life and allow them to think what they will. All was going well when he suddenly finds himself responsible for an innocent doctor whose life is in danger, and he suspects his house of cards is about to come crumbling down. When ally turns to enemy and he becomes a target, he knows he should cut the beautiful doctor loose to save her life.

As their thrilling adventure unfolds, the chemistry between Hayden and Danielle grows. While fleeing up the beautiful Mexican coast, Hayden develops a plan. It puts him at risk, but protecting his brave young doctor is all that matters. Calling in the Evans troops, he soon learns that he is in the middle of their unfolding case, and more than Danielle’s life is on the line.

From Mangia to Murder

I created this cover several months ago for new author Caroline Mickelson. We were both delighted that I was able to use the photo of her grandmother,  which will be used on every title in this series.

This cover has received some of the highest praise a cover can receive (in my opinion) and the author herself said, "You have made this experience self-publishing so great for me because the one thing I wanted was a New York quality cover. I can't imagine anything better and I'm SO thankful!" I'm pretty thankful myself. :O)

If you want to grab a copy of this book, click the cover to go straight to the kindle version on Amazon.

Bigger News Than Just a Pricing Change

1/31/2012

As of February 1, 2012, An Author's Art has joined forces with Linda Boulanger of Tell-Tale Cover Design and TreasureLine Designs. As required by this partnership, my prices have gone up. Some will say it's worth it and some will move on to other designers. Either way works for me. ☺

The new prices are as follows:
  • Custom eBook covers (front only) are $75 and include a print quality image file that can be paired with your own back and spine, as well as used in printed promotional materials.
  • Custom print covers (front, back, spine) are $125 and include a front cover file for eBook use.
  • Premades are $40 but can be customized for an additional fee.
For those who have already entered into a design contract with me (i.e., I'm already neck-deep in the creation or execution of your requested design), these prices do not apply to you. For anyone who receives a special deal (i.e., 10% off anything you order, forever), that discount will still apply, but according to the new price scale. I will also be more diligent in charging for excessive changes, so please keep this in mind.

You may be wondering why I'd make this decision. I started this cover design site just over a year ago. It was meant to be a hobby, not a career. And though I've come nowhere near making enough to support my family, I've had more cover orders than my personal time will allow. As a result, writing took a bit of a back seat and for a writer, that's just not acceptable.

Watch this blog for updates and new covers. I'm going to attempt to be more diligent about blogging too. ☺

New Gallery of Cover Designs

As of today, I am now offering premade covers. These designs require nothing more than the addition of a title, author name, and an optional tagline. These are suitable for eBook use and in some cases, if a full-spread print cover is desired, arrangements can be made.
Here is a taste of the covers I'm offering. I'll periodically post new ones to this blog so you can see what I'm doing.
Check out the new gallery and let me know what you think! :O)
